Exciting news for “Frasier” fans! Production for Season 2 of the revival is in full swing, and we’ve got a familiar face returning. Peri Gilpin, who portrayed the lovable Roz Doyle throughout the original series’ 11-season run, is set to make a comeback. After her guest appearance in the first season’s finale, she’s now slated to appear in multiple episodes as a recurring guest star.
And that’s not all — James Burrows, who directed two episodes in the first season, is also making a return behind the camera for Season 2. It’s great to see some continuity in the creative team.
But Peri Gilpin isn’t the only original cast member making a comeback. Bebe Neuwirth, known for her role as Lilith Sternin from “Cheers,” has also reprised her character in the revival. This adds a nice touch of nostalgia for longtime fans.

In the revival, we see Frasier, played by Kelsey Grammer, heading back to Boston to be closer to his son Freddy and take up a teaching gig at Harvard. The ensemble cast also includes Nicholas Lyndhurst, Toks Olagundoye, Jess Salgueiro, and Anders Keith, promising a blend of familiar faces and fresh talent.
Behind the scenes, writers Chris Harris and Joe Cristalli are at the helm as showrunners and executive producers, alongside Grammer, Tom Russo, and Jordan McMahon. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Grammer himself is optimistic about the show’s future, expressing his belief in an interview with Variety he said that there’s enough material to sustain “another 100 episodes at least.” It’s clear he’s invested in seeing where these beloved characters will go next, and fans are undoubtedly eager to join them on the journey.
