The highly anticipated second season of Apple’s workplace thriller *Severance* is set to return to the office in January 2025, as announced by the streamer on Wednesday. According to reports, fans can expect 10 episodes, which will be released weekly over the first two months of the new year.
A brief teaser, also released on Wednesday, confirmed the date and gave viewers a nostalgic glimpse of the iconic elevator from the show’s workplace setting. Directed and executive produced by Ben Stiller, *Severance* stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, a manager at the enigmatic Lumon Industries.
At Lumon, employees undergo severance procedures that separate their work memories from their personal lives. The first season of *Severance* garnered significant acclaim, earning numerous Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and winning two Writers Guild awards.

Season two will see the return of original cast members Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. New series regular Sarah Bock joins the cast, along with Gwendoline Christie, Bob Balaban, and Merritt Wever. The series is produced by Fifth Season.
According to a press release, season two will follow Mark and his colleagues as they face the dire consequences of meddling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe. The show is written, created, and executive produced by Dan Erickson.
*Severance* season two will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first episode on January 17, 2025. Subsequent episodes will be released every Friday, concluding on March 21, 2025. This return will mark two and a half years since the show’s initial premiere in February 2022.
