“Solo Leveling” left fans hanging on the edge of their seats with an epic cliffhanger, featuring Sung Jinwoo uttering the one word that everyone’s been waiting to hear. So, naturally, the burning question is: when is Season 2 coming out?
“Solo Leveling” has quickly established itself as one of the standout anime of 2024, with its intense fight scenes and deep character development setting it apart from the rest.
It’s no wonder that it’s being mentioned alongside heavyweights like “Demon Slayer” and “My Hero Academia” as one of the biggest anime releases of the year. Not bad for a series that’s just made its way to the small screen.
So, when will we see more of Sung Jinwoo and his journey? And what can we expect from the upcoming episodes? Here’s everything you need to know.
When Will Solo Leveling Season 2 Premiere?
Fans won’t have to wait too long to dive back into the action. Solo Leveling Season 2, titled ‘Arise from the Shadow,’ is slated for a late 2024 release.
Crunchyroll made the official announcement on March 30, 2024, pinpointing October or November as the likely release window. This timeline was further confirmed by D&C Media, the publisher of the original Solo Leveling webtoon, during an interview in January 2024.
While delays are not uncommon in the world of anime, everything seems to be on track so far. In fact, Atsushi Kaneko recently took to social media to share that production is progressing well, with dubbing for all episodes already completed.

What Could Be the Plot of Solo Leveling Season 2?
Season 2 will pick up right where the first season left off, with Sung Jinwoo embracing his new role as the Shadow Monarch. Episode 13 will dive into the Red Gate Arc, which spans chapters 46 to 63 of the webtoon. This arc introduces a new, more challenging dungeon, where the gate closes behind those who enter, significantly raising the stakes.
From the first trailer, we can see that this new environment is harsh and snowy, adding another layer of difficulty to the quest. Initially, this was meant to be a training exercise for E-rank hunter Han Song-Yi, but the sudden transformation into the Red Gate presents a much greater challenge.
Following this arc, the story will move into the Dungeon Castle Arc. Without giving away too many spoilers, it’s safe to say that Sung Jinwoo will continue to grow in power, facing increasingly difficult challenges along the way.

How Many Episodes Will Solo Leveling Season 2 Have?
“Solo Leveling” Season 2 is expected to consist of 13 episodes. This is part of a larger 25-episode commission by Aniplex. Technically, in Japan, this could be considered the second half of the first season, but Crunchyroll has decided to simplify things by labeling it as Season 2.
It’s common in anime for seasons to be split into parts, as we’ve seen with series like “Attack on Titan.” Given that the “Solo Leveling” webtoon has over 200 chapters, and the anime has only covered 45 so far, there’s plenty of material left to adapt.
